Shomron, Israel - 19-year-old female seriously injured, and 50-year-old male with mild to moderate injuries following shooting terror attack on Route 55 near Azun Village in Samaria

At 10:05 today (Sunday), calls were received in MDA’s 101 Emergency Call Center in the Yarkon Region of a shooting terror attack on Route 55 near Azun Village in Samaria. Reports were of 2 casualties injured by shooting at a bus and private vehicle, the bus continued its journey to Karnei Shomrom, and the vehicle stopped at the Eliyahu Checkpoint between Qalqilya and Alfei Menashe.
MDA Medicycles, ambulances and mobile intensive care units (MICUs) were immediately dispatched to both scenes. MDA EMTs and Paramedics, along with an IDF medical team, provided treatment to two casualties and then evacuated them to Meir Hospital in Kfar Sava, and Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva: A 19-year-old female, sedated in serious condition with a gunshot injury, and a 50 year old male in mild to moderate condition with shrapnel injuries.

MDA EMT Asaf Ilkashi who was first on scene:

“We arrived in large numbers to the entrance to Karnei Shomron, we saw a bus with 7 passengers, there was a 19 year old female with gunshot injuries. We provided immediate treatment and handed her over to the MICU team who were rapidly on scene.”

MDA Paramedics Israel Haim Lifshitz and Avihai Ben Tzruya, and Dr. Yaakov Seligman:

“We moved the fully conscious casualty to the MICU, with gunshot injuries to her shoulder and hand. We stopped the bleeding, sedated and ventilated her during the evacuation, and her condition improved a little on route. On arrival at the hospital, we handed her over to the medical team in the trauma room in serious condition.”  

MDA EMT Shai Cohen:

“We arrived at the Eliyahu Checkpoint and saw a driver of a vehicle, a 50-year-old male, who was injured, and there was blood on the windscreen. Along with an IDF medical team, he was evacuated to hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, in mild to moderate condition.”
