Baltimore, MD - dec. 22, 2015 - Charity Navigator, the country’s premier charity evaluator, recently awarded The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore with its coveted four star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency. This is the third consecutive year The Associated received the four star rating, placing it among the top 14 percent of charities in the nation.
Classified as “exceptional” by Charity Navigator, the four star rating is assigned to organizations that exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in its cause. The designation recognizes The Associated as adhering to good governance and other best practices and operates with a commitment to accountability and transparency.
“We are honored to be recognized by the nation’s leading nonprofit evaluator for executing our mission in a fiscally responsible way,” said Marc B. Terrill, president of The Associated. “Our donors should have continued confidence that we are effectively using their dollars to best meet the needs of the greater Jewish community.”
Every year, Charity Navigator examines tens of thousands of nonprofit financial documents to develop an objective system to rate over 8,000 of America’s best-known and lessor known charities. The goal is to provide donors with information to help them make smart philanthropic decisions.
