Baltimore, MD - Apr. 16, 2026 - As summer approaches, Baltimore County police are investigating and trying to stop planned “link-ups,” also described as teen takeovers, at major shopping centers — incidents that law enforcement officials say can drive shoppers away and hurt the local economy.
Link ups have been reported at White Marsh Mall, Towson Town Center and other locations, with more planned in the next few weeks.
Lt. Douglas Jess, president of the Baltimore County police union, said social media has helped fuel the gatherings.
