Baltimore, MD - Mar. 2, 2026 - Much of the forecast area is expected to experience some winter weather on Monday and Tuesday. A light band of precipitation is expected to develop over central Maryland Monday afternoon. This precipitation is expected to continue through Monday evening. With temperatures running in the upper 20s and low 30s across the area, this precipitation is expected to fall as snow. In general, very light snow accumulations of up to 1" are expected. A few reports of up to 2" of accumulation in the center of the band cannot be ruled out.

The totals your area sees will be predominantly dependent on where this band aligns itself. At this time, the most likely location for this band to develop is in an area to the south of Interstate 70 and to the north of Interstate 95.

A brief break in precipitation is expected late Monday evening, before precipitation pushes back into the area Monday night. This precipitation is expected to begin as snowfall before switching over the freezing rain after a couple hours later during the overnight hours between Monday night and Tuesday morning. During this period, up to 1/10" of ice accumulation is expected, with slightly higher totals possible along the highest elevations of the Catoctin Mountains.

Precipitation is expected to changeover to normal rain shortly a couple hours after sunrise on Tuesday morning, as temperatures begin to increase for the day. This rainfall is expected to linger through much of the day and into the early morning hours prior to sunrise on Wednesday.
