Jerusalem, Israel - Dec. 16, 2025 - The Ministry of Economy presents a forecast for Israeli export data in 2025, predicting that by the end of the year, exports will approach $160 billion – an increase of approximately 3% compared to 2024.

A press conference was held at the King David Hotel on Tuesday afternoon. Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat and German Economic Affairs and Energy Minister Katharina Reiche spoke and answered questions.

Barkat said in English, "The economic relationship between Israel and Germany goes far beyond trade figures. Germany is our largest trading partner in the European Union and a true strategic partner—a country with which we are jointly building a future of growth, innovation, and prosperity for both economies. Germany serves as a home for many Israeli companies in Europe, and the connection between our economies, each bringing different relative advantages, allows for deep and valuable cooperation. We seek to expand both production and imports, based on the understanding that each has a vital role in strengthening the economy and resilience of both countries. I thank Minister Katharina Reiche for the deep partnership and for her clear support for Israel, including in the European arena. We will continue to work toward realizing the vision of one trillion dollars in exports within two decades."

Reiche spoke in German: "This year, we mark 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany—a partnership based on deep trust and mutual respect. The close friendship linking our countries is a result, among other things, of strong and stable economic cooperation, which we wish to deepen even further. Israel has developed into a leading innovation and startup hub, a model from which we can learn. Closer cooperation with Israel can further boost the competitiveness of our economy by providing access to groundbreaking technologies, highly qualified professionals, and joint dual-reality projects in the fields of research and development."

The German business delegation includes dozens of participants, among them CEOs and senior representatives from several large corporations. The most senior representative in the delegation is the Chairman of the global shipping group DHL, Tobias Meyer, alongside representatives from other significant companies in the delegation, such as Rolls Royce, Renk Group, OHB systems, and quantum systems, who come from the defense sectors and defense-adjacent industries, dealing with aviation, space, and drones.

"Upon taking office, I placed increasing exports at the top of the priority list and set a clear strategic goal – leading Israel to one trillion dollars in exports within 20 years," said Barkat.

Adding, "already during the war, we prepared for the day after, and today we are beginning to see the results on the ground and reap the rewards. Expanding exports to new markets worldwide is the key to Israel's economic resilience. I thank the staff of the Foreign Trade Administration and the network of economic attachés for their professional, determined, and daily work that brings tangible achievements to the Israeli economy."

Barkat thanked Reiche, whom he had met in Germany, telling her that "we have a mutual future." Adding, "The war is not over...We have changed the region," Barkat emphasized that we are a resilient, entrepreneurial, and creative.  "Israel is looking to make a better world."
