Baltimore County, MD – June 10, 2025 – Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier and Fire Chief Joseph Dixon announced a nearly $40 million investment in new fire and EMS apparatus, aimed at enhancing public safety and protecting first responders across the county.
The upgrades include:
$13.5 million for 16 new fire engines
$2.7 million for 3 new rescue engines
Nearly $13 million for 26 new medic units
Additional funding for a new HAZMAT unit, 17 brush units, 19 vehicles, and other specialty apparatus
An additional $2 million was invested in 12 new medic units for the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association (BCVFA), strengthening the county’s volunteer response capacity.
Officials say the new equipment reflects a continued commitment to firefighter safety, operational readiness, and top-tier emergency response.
