Jerusalem, Israel - Feb. 20, 2025 – The bodies of four Israeli hostages—Shiri Bibas, her two young sons Ariel and Kfir, and Oded Lifshitz, H'yd—were returned to Israel today following a handover from Hamas to the Red Cross in Khan Yunis. The transfer, which included a public ceremony staged by Hamas, was met with profound grief and outrage across Israel.
The Israeli military confirmed that the remains were transported to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification. A full military ceremony was held, with the coffins wrapped in Israeli flags, as Psalms and Kaddish were recited. IDF Chief Rabbi Eyal Karim also led prayers at the site.
Israeli officials condemned Hamas' handling of the transfer, including their claims that Israel was responsible for the hostages' deaths. The families requested that images from Hamas' ceremony not be published, as the event featured propaganda displays, including an image of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu depicted as a demon.
President Isaac Herzog expressed deep sorrow, stating, "Our hearts—those of an entire nation—are in tatters. We bow our heads and ask for forgiveness for not bringing them home safely."... Read More: Arutz-7
