Jerusalem, Israel - Dec. 5, 2024 - On December 4, 2024, a new exhibition opened in Jerusalem, Israel, showcasing the National Library of Israel’s (NLI) extraordinary collection of 80 Kafka documents. Most have never before been on public display.
"Kafka. Metamorphosis of An Author" is displayed in the NLI temporary exhibition space divided into two sections. They are structured around the themes of Franz Kafka’s life and work with a special focus on Kafka’s connection to Jerusalem and Israel.

New artworks by contemporary Israeli artists inspired by Kafka’s drawings are now large black sketches on the white walls. One piece has 100 images; the exhibit is timed as the one hundred years since his death.
Over the coming months, the Library will hold a series of gallery talks, cultural events, and an international conference.
