Baltimore, MD - Sept.5, 2024 - To the Editor:

I write this in the wake of the horrific execution of six of our brothers and sisters in Israel this past week. Throughout the course of this terrible war, I have felt a sense of helplessness: what can I really do to support our people in Israel who are bearing the suffering of this war? One thing that I think we here in America can do is show up at the polls this November and vote for Larry Hogan for Senator. The Senate is currently split 50/50 between Democrats and Republicans. Larry Hogan is a strong, committed friend of Israel. His opponent, Angela Alsobrooks, has been much more equivocal, and all appearances show that she is aligned with Maryland's other Senator, Chris Van Hollen, whose conduct and speech towards Israel since the start of the war have been despicable and reprehensible. Let's show up en masse as a community and do what is in our power to influence the election and get a friend of Israel to be Maryland's next Senator in this important race.
