Baltimore, MD - Oct. 16, 2023 - Rite Aid pharmacy chain, which has 38 stores in Maryland, said Sunday it will accelerate the closure of some underperforming stores under terms outlined in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
Rite Aid stores in Maryland are located in Baltimore, Bel Air, Eldersburg, Elkton, Ellicott City, Glen Burnie, Havre De Grace, Ocean City, Owings Mills, Randallstown, Salisbury, Westminster and several other towns across the state.
The company did not disclose the locations of Rite Aid drug stores considered for closure, or say when the stores would close.
Prescriptions of customers of the affected stores will be transferred to a nearby Rite Aid or other drug store “so that there is no disruption of service,” the company said in a statement.
