We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team and support our Employment Attorneys in providing exceptional legal services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of employment law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to assist with various legal tasks to ensure the success of our clients' cases. Responsibilities: • Document Preparation: Prepare, review, and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence. • Ability to conduct legal research a plus: Conduct thorough legal research on employment law matters, including statutes, regulations, case law, and relevant legal precedents. Case Management: Assist in managing case files and maintaining organized documentation. Keep track of case deadlines, court dates, and client meetings. • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients and gather information related to their cases. Maintain professionalism and ensure client satisfaction. • Legal Filings: File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and deadlines. • Legal Support: Prepare exhibits, trial binders or any other material/documents needed for client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials. • Calendar Management: Maintain the attorney's calendar, schedule appointments, and ensure timely follow-up on important dates and deadlines. • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, filing, and managing correspondence. • Front Desk Management: Greet clients and visitors with a warm and courteous demeanor, directing them to the appropriate attorney or staff member. • Phone and Email Communication: Answer and manage incoming calls, providing information and assistance or directing inquiries to the appropriate contact. Respond to general email inquiries in a prompt and professional manner. • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule appointments, meetings, and conference room bookings, ensuring that attorneys' calendars are organized and up to date. • Document Handling: Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages, as well as handle outgoing mail and courier deliveries. Assist with photocopying, scanning, and faxing of legal documents as needed. • Client Intake: Assist with initial client intake by gathering basic information and ensuring client information is accurately recorded in the firm's database. • Office Organization: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, conference rooms, and other common spaces. Order office supplies as needed. • Client Assistance: Offer general information about the firm's services and processes to clients and provide assistance with completing required forms. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or an associate's degree in paralegal studies or a related field. Paralegal certification from an accredited program is preferred. 3-5 years of paralegal experience in employment law or related areas ideal, but not required. Proficient in legal research preferred, document drafting and case management required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with legal software and research tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
