President Donald Trump "remains in exceptional health" following his "comprehensive" follow-up evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, according to the president's doctor.
U.S. Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella also said Trump "continues to demonstrate excellent overall health." He shared the results with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a memorandum on Friday, which was the same day as Trump's semi-annual physical.
"The visit was part of his ongoing health maintenance plan and included advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventative health assessments conducted by a multidisciplinary team of specialists," Barbabella wrote.
These evaluations were performed in coordination with leading academic and medical consultants to ensure optimal cardiovascular health and continued wellness," he added.
Barbabella also noted that Trump's cardiac age -- a validated measure of cardiovascular vitality via an electrocardiogram (ECG) -- was about 14 years younger than his chronological age.
He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction," Barbabella wrote.'Trump, who is 79 years old, announced his plan to see the doctor after a reporter asked him about his schedule during an unrelated news conference at the White House on Thursday afternoon.
I'm meeting with the troops and I'm also going to do sort of a semi-annual physical, which I do. I think I'm in great shape, but I'll let you know," Trump said at the time.He added that he hasn't had any difficulties "thus far," also joking by knocking on wood.
