Jerusalem, Israel - Sept. 8, 2025 -Six people were killed after terrorists opened fire on civilians at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem on Monday morning, with the six names cleared for publication.
Yaakov Pinto, 25, Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash, Israel Mentzer, 28, Yosef David, 43, Sarah Mendelson, 60, and Rabbi Mordechai Steinsteg, 79, were identified as killed in the attack.
Yaakov Pinto, 25, immigrated from Spain and was recently married. “With great sorrow and pain, we received the news of the murder of Yaakov Pinto, 25, a resident of Jerusalem, who was murdered in the deadly shooting attack at the Ramot Junction. Yaakov, a new immigrant from Spain, was recently married – his future was cruelly cut short," Walla reported.
Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash taught at the Kol Torah Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
“Kol Torah Yeshiva announces with deep sorrow and grief the murder of our devoted staff member, a maintenance worker well known throughout the neighborhood, a man of many acts of kindness who gave generously of his own means, and who was constantly immersed in Torah study," N12 reported.
According to N12, his funeral will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the Har HaMenuchot Cemetery.
Israel Mentzer, 28, was a resident of the Ramot neighborhood.
Yosef David was also a resident of the Ramot neighborhood. N12 reported that he was killed while waiting at the bus stop for his kollel studies, holding his books in his hands.
The Bnei Akiva movement mourned Sarah Mendelson's death, stating, “Baruch Dayan Ha’emet. The movement weeps and mourns the murder of our colleague, Sarita (Sarah) Mendelson, this morning at the hands of evildoers in the Ramot neighborhood."
"Sarah worked for decades as Director of Government Relations in the movement’s treasury department and was murdered on her way to work at the national headquarters in the Nayot neighborhood of Jerusalem. The movement and the entire Bnei Akiva family send condolences and embrace the dear family in this difficult time."
Rabbi Mordechai Steinsteg was the founder of the well-known bakery, "Dr. Mark's Pastry."
