Baltimore Braces for Treacherous Ice Storm – Dangerous Roads Expected Overnight!

Baltimore, MD – Feb. 5, 2025 – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Baltimore and surrounding areas, warning of freezing rain, sleet, and light snow overnight into Thursday morning. The advisory is in effect from 9 PM Wednesday until 10 AM Thursday, with hazardous conditions expected to impact the morning commute.

What to Expect

A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is forecasted to begin late Wednesday night. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch are possible, along with a glaze to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation.

After midnight, freezing rain and sleet will develop, making roads and sidewalks extremely slippery. Areas along and east of Interstate 95 may see rain mixing in by early morning as temperatures begin to rise.
