Baltimore, MD - Oct. 29, 2024 - There will be overnight bridge work at the Ruxton Rd. bridge over I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway) beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
There will be work done each night through Thursday.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday, crews will work on southbound I-83 on the Ruxton Rd. bridge to install shielding underneath the bridge deck (riding surface), according to the State Highway Administration.
There will be a ramp detour and lane closures overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.
Ramp Closure/Detour:
The ramp from eastbound I-695 (Baltimore Beltway inner loop) to southbound I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway) to be closed overnight 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. Detour: Proceed on eastbound I-695 to MD 139 (Charles Street) interchange, go through the interchange to westbound I-695 (outer loop) and proceed on the outer loop to southbound I-83 JFX.
Lane Closures:
There will be an overnight lane closure on the two-lane ramp from westbound I-695 to southbound I-83 JFX, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
There will be overnight single- and double-lane closures on southbound I-83 JFX between south of the I-695 interchange and south of Ruxton Road, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. During the bridge work, all traffic on southbound I-83 JFX will merge into one lane prior to the Ruxton Road bridge.
