Maryland Events Commemorate One-Year Anniversary of Hamas Attack on Israel

Baltimore, MD - Oct. 6, 2024 - Monday marks the one-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, which resulted in over 1,200 deaths and the capture of 250 Israeli and American hostages.  Events to mark this anniversary will take place across Maryland.

  1. Sunday, 3:45 p.m. - The Baltimore Zionist District will host a commemorative program at Wellwood International School in Pikesville, MD.

  2. Sunday, 7 p.m. - A teen vigil will be held at the Jewish Community Center of Owings Mills, hosted by 4Front, the center’s teen program.

  3. Monday, 7 p.m. - The Baltimore Jewish Council, The Associated, and other Jewish organizations will host a community-wide commemoration at Beth El Congregation in Pikesville, MD. Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Senator Ben Cardin are expected to attend.

  4. Monday, 7 p.m. - A vigil for Israeli victims will take place in Frederick, Maryland, at Baker Park.
