Hamas terrorists are hoarding some 200,000 gallons of fuel to continue its barrage of rocket fire into Israel and keep the air clean in its labrynth of undeground tunnels as Gaza's hospitals lose power, U.S. and Israeli officials say.

Gaza's only cancer treatement facility ran out of fuel on Wednesday, but U.S. and Israeli officials as well as academics told the outlet that Hamas has more than enough to meet Gaza's needs.

“Hamas has its own supply stockpile of fuel,” Blinken told the Senate Appropriations Committee. “If it cared a whit about the people of Gaza, it would make sure itself that it used that fuel to have the hospitals be able to operate the incubators, stay turned on, etc. But, of course, it doesn’t.”

Experts say Hamas is hoarding the fuel to continue its offensive operations against Israel as well as to maintain its vast array of tunnels beneath Gaza.

“We don’t know how much they have, and we definitely don’t know how much they need, because no one is sure to what extent this underground city goes,” Elai Rettig, an assistant professor of political studies at Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv, told NBC News. “If it’s just for ventilation and basic communication, it will last for months.”

Israeli Defense Forces released audio of a call on Wednesday that they say shows that Hamas has been taking fuel from hospital stocks as the war continues.
