Baltimore’s plan to ban squeegeeing in several busy intersections across the city has been going on for nearly three months, and police say they’ve issued no citations.

While many of those intersections remain squeegee free, we found drivers are still reporting problems with squeegee workers citywide.

On Tuesday, a call came in to Baltimore Police of a driver complaining a squeegee worker damaged their vehicle.

That same day police tell us there were six calls for service alone in reference to squeegee related incidents.

Squeegee enforcement zones went into effect on January 10th, banning squeegeeing in six high traffic intersections throughout the city.

They’re enforced by police with a three tiered system.

First a warning, second another warning and referral to service, and the third instance will result in a citation.

Bill King who works along President Street thinks the plan’s been working.

“So far it seems like it is. We saw an almost immediate change after it came into effect,” he said.

Baltimore Police tell us in total 27 warnings have been given since January 10th, but no citations.

“I think the real test is when summer comes. Kids are out of school. The weather is nice. Do we see an uptick at that point,” King asked.
