The system flagged unusual activity, prompting an investigation

A nurse at the Clalit health fund in Rahat in southern Israel issued about 150 vaccination certificates to patients who had not received injections against Covid.

The system flagged unusual activity, prompting an investigation. During the police investigation, the young woman confessed to providing false documents and was immediately dismissed.

Clalit stated that the incident was reported to the Ministry of Health.

To date, more than 6.2 million citizens have received the first dose of Pfizer's Covid vaccine, more than 5.7 the two doses and more than 4 million the three doses.

Israel will begin the vaccination campaign for children aged 5 to 11 years next week.

The Covid epidemic has largely receded in the country for several weeks, thanks in part to the vaccine booster.

However, the Ministry of Health is monitoring a new variant identified in various European countries and in Congo. While it contains an unknown mutation that was not present in previous variants, researchers are examining its potential impact and resistance to the vaccine.

Authorities are urging caution and the maintenance of barrier measures primarily in enclosed spaces.
