The three victims, seriously wounded but reportedly stable, were admitted to Bavarian hospitals

Three people were injured on Saturday morning in a knife attack on a high-speed train in southern Germany, local police said, adding that the alleged perpetrator was arrested.

"There is no longer any danger", the police of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz (Bavaria) assured in a press release.

The three victims, seriously wounded but reportedly stable, were admitted to Bavarian hospitals.

Several hundred passengers were evacuated, BBC News reported.

The train was halted at the station of Seubersdorf, roughly 43 miles south of Nuremberg, where a man was arrested.

No details were immediately delivered by the police concerning the suspect.

However, the German newspaper Bild specified that the suspect is a 27-year-old man of Arab origin who entered Germany in 2014, and suffers from "psychological problems."
