The system that is supposed to warn of the approach of Iranian drones and cruise missiles has been disabled for six months, Kan 11 News reported this evening (Wednesday).

The new and unique system, called "Tal Shemayim" was placed in the north of the country by the Defense Ministry a year and a half ago with the aim of detecting Iranian drones and cruise missiles. Last winter the observation balloon ruptured as a result of a storm, and it is not known when the system will return to operational activity.

The defense establishment stated: "The aerial platform 'Tal Shemayim' is the first system of its kind in the world. The system is still in the process of deployment and integration shared by the Air Force and the Directorate for Research and Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure in the Defense Ministry."
