Baltimore, MD - I was in Eretz Yisrael learning in yeshiva when I learned through a tape my parents sent me that M. Leo Storch was extremely ill. I was absolutely devastated.
For me, Mr. Storch was a mentor I looked up to throughout my teenage years. He was the type of person I wanted to be when I grew older. M. Leo Storch was a charming, brilliant Baltimore attorney, an accomplished businessman, and a successful real estate developer who made a huge impact on the Baltimore Orthodox Jewish community. His life was truly a kiddush Hashem.
Even today, 53 years after his untimely death, he continues to be a role model of middos and character that business persons and balabatim would do well to emulate. And it is his vision and actions of the 1950s and 1960s that continue to influence the Ba...

Assistance with sorting through the house to determine what can be saved. 2. Help finding a furnished home or apartment for the family to rent in the area. The damage is extensive, and the repairs will likely take several months. While Rob and his family are waiting on adjusters and insurance, they greatly appreciate any help offered. They have given permission for us to reach out to the community for volunteers. We’re looking...

Coming Down from Sinai
Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz derives an important life lesson from this week’s Torah portion of Mishpatim. He writes: “The most unusual part about Parashat Mishpatim is….Parashat Mishpatim. How do we move from the dramatic and earthshattering revelation on Har Sinai to a listing of 53 mitzvot pertaining to different areas of life? How is it possible to go from the lofty and sublime Matan Torah to instructions about how to take care of your donkey, or what happens if someone breaks your tooth and causes you injury?
The answer is that in order to achieve great things, we must begin with the small details. This is the only way to create meaning and to bring the revelation on Har Sinai into our day-to-day lives.
In contrast to the well-kn...

The Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich signed today (Monday) an additional lien of 320 million shekels from the Palestinian Authority's liquidation funds in favor of the families of terror victims.
This is the latest in a series of liens on funds from the Palestinian Authority, which prevents it from using the funds and designates the authority's funds for victims of terrorism and their families.
"There is no more moral and just signature than to prevent the Palestinian Authority from funding terrorism, and to garnish its funds for the benefit of the families of terror victims. This is a necessary step in our national struggle against terrorism and against the Palestinian Authority that encourages it,'' Smotrich declared.
"This turnabout joins the Gaza payroll dedu...
