Jerusalem, Israel - May 17, 2022 - The First Annual Jerusalem Mental Health Expo, a day of speakers, workshops, and conversations about maintaining mental health, and building resilience, was held at the Nefesh BeNefesh Campus in Jerusalem, Israel on May 16, 2022.

From 9:00 am, beginning with an hour for Mental Health Professional Networking to the concluding panel on Innovations in Mental Health at 7:00 pm, hundreds of English speakers participated.

Keynote speakers were Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, Dr. David Pelcovitz, MK Michal Waldinger, and Prof, Nachman Ash.

Halacha and Mental Health was one of the panels with Rabbi Yoni Roszensweig, Dr. Shmuel Harris, Rabbi Yitzchok Berkovits, and Dr. Yaakkov Freedman, moderated by Rabbi Chaim Fachler.

Other panels included Choosing the Right Mental Health Provider for You and Raising Your Kids In Israel. The programs were for professionals and those seeking information. The event was free for the public with registration requested.

The hall was filled with individual booths, varied from United Hatzalah to private health care providers, and dozens of non-profit organizations.

After attending, Jerusalem psychologist Talya Roth told BJL "I thoroughly enjoyed the event. It was wonderful to see so many colleagues, and I am so glad the Anglo community got to learn about the many professional organizations in the mental health world available to them in Jerusalem. The keynote address by Dr. David Pelcovitz on resilience was a perfect start to this public conversation on mental health in general."

"The mental health conference was an amazing step in the direction of validating the community's needs for supporting anglo Israeli's mental health. It was a wonderful way for mental health professionals to network and also learn how to work better together," agreed Marriage and Family Therapist Micki Lavin-Pell.
