Baltimore, MD – March 12, 2025 – The Playa Bowls location at Quarry Lake has changed ownership, transitioning to a new team led by father-son duo Robert and Scott Weitz, and their partner, Anthony Ross.

This sale comes at a high point for the store, which has been a cornerstone of the Baltimore community since its opening in October 2021.

The original ownership group—Michael and Sherri Bogdan, along with local partners Dov and Jenny Ocken, and Yitzie and Nancy Pretter—brought Playa Bowls to Quarry Lake after Jenny and Nancy saw an opportunity to bring this fun, dynamic brand to the community. Their vision led to the creation of this beloved destination, offering vibrant, kosher-certified bowls and smoothies that quickly became a popular choice for locals.

“The success of Playa Bowls at Quarry Lake has far exceeded our expectations,” said Michael Bogdan. “It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re confident the store is well-positioned for continued success under the new owners.”

Under their leadership, the Quarry Lake Playa Bowls location has been a highly successful part of the Playa Bowls network, reflecting both its strong market presence and the lasting community support it earned. Scott and Robert, as members of the community themselves, are deeply committed to maintaining the store’s high standards and ensuring it remains Star-D Kosher certified.

With almost two decades of restaurant ownership experience, they look forward to building on the success of the previous ownership group and expanding the Playa Bowls footprint in the surrounding areas. They have plans to open an additional five locations over the next few years.

Though the sale marks the end of one chapter, it’s a confident transition, with the new owners eager to build on the strong foundation laid by the original team. The Quarry Lake Playa Bowls will remain open throughout the transition. Gift cards will still be valid.
