Baltimore, MD - Aug. 27, 2025 - Gasoline prices for the long holiday weekend are projected to be at their lowest rate in since Labor Day 2020.
According to Gas Buddy, the average cost for a gallon of fuel this year is expected to be around $3.15 — 14 cents lower than in 2024.
And that may be just the start for prices falling at the pump.
“Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, and when it comes to gas prices, it’s been the cheapest summer to hit the road since the pandemic, a trend that will likely continue with the potential for the national average to fall below $3 per gallon this fall,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
Once President Donald Trump's first term ended, gas prices went up four straight years (2021: $3.16/g...

Baltimore, MD - Aug. 26, 2025 - A federal judge on Tuesday threw out the Trump administration’s lawsuit against Maryland’s entire federal bench over an order by the chief judge that stopped the immediate deportation of migrants challenging their removals.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Cullen granted a request by the judges to toss the case, saying to do otherwise “would run counter to overwhelming precedent, depart from longstanding constitutional tradition, and offend the rule of law.”
“In their wisdom, the Constitution’s framers joined three coordinate branches to establish a single sovereign,” Cullen wrote. “That structure may occasionally engender clashes between two branches and encroachment by one branch on another’s auth...

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese accused Iran of organizing two antisemitic attacks in Australia and said the country was cutting off diplomatic relations with Tehran in response on Tuesday.
The Australian Security Intelligence Organization concluded the Iranian government had directed arson attacks on the Lewis Continental Kitchen, a kosher food company, in Sydney in October last year and on the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne in December last year, Albanese said.
Iran's government denied the allegations.

“I’m on disability, so I don’t know what to do. It’s like I’m stuck,” Jean Blouse told WMAR-2 News.
Blouse has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a condition she’s lived with for 30 years, that doctors now believe may be attacking her lungs. Her entire team is at Johns Hopkins.

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that his administration will likely change the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War, a name it held until after World War II.
Both Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have repeatedly expressed a desire to restore the department’s "warrior ethos."
"When we won World War I, World War II, it was called the Department of War. And to me, that’s really what it is," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
Trump also stated that he does not want to focus on defense only. "I don’t want to be defense only," the President said. "We want offense too."
The President also hinted that he plans to proceed with the change regardless of congressional approval.

Balimore, MD - Aug. 25, 2025 - President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance criticized Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and other Democratic governors on their approach to crime within their states and cities.
Vance questioned why Democratic governors, including Moore, wouldn't want help on addressing crime issues.
"We want people to welcome us, to ask us... look at Gov. Pritzker in Illinois or Gov. Newsom in Los Angeles or Gov. Moore in Maryland. They are angrier about the fact that the President of the United States is offering to help them get their crime under control than they are about the fact that murderers are running roughshod over their cities, and have been for decades," Vance said in the Oval Office on Monday.
Why are Democrat governors angrier about federal l...
