Hamas on Friday afternoon handed over to the mediators the list of four hostages who will be released on Saturday afternoon. The names will be published once the families of the hostages are formally notified. The Prime Minister’s Office said in an official statement, "The list of hostages to be released has been received through the mediators. Israel's response will be provided later." Diplomatic officials in Israel stated that the list provided by Hamas does not meet the agreement that was signed between the sides. As a result, Israel held consultations following the list of hostages that was transferred by Hamas. Later on Friday evening, Israel informed the mediators that it is preparing to receive the four hostages on the list, despite the fact that Hamas is violating t...
President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that he has terminated the security detail provided to Dr. Anthony Fauci at the taxpayer's expense. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) requested security for Fauci in 2020 to protect him from threats he received as the top health official and public spokesperson during the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump earlier revoked the security clearances of 51 intelligence officials who had wrongly claimed that Hunter Biden's laptop had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation," as well as the details provided to former national security advisor John Bolton and ex-CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

Jerusalem, Israel - Jan. 24, 2025 - Merav Berger, whose daughter Agam is expected to be released Shabbat from Hamas captivity, has asked Israeli media not to desecrate Shabbat by covering her daughter's release. Agam Berger was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz military post during the October 7 massacre. "We are waiting with bated breath for our daughters," she said. "We also know that it will apparently happen on Shabbat, and not for no reason, either: Our enemies apparently intended that. To me it is important, and I have spent no small amount of time on this in recent days, how I will do it without desecrating Shabbat." She added that after speaking to rabbis, including a key rabbi in the military rabbinate, and decided to wait for her daughter Agam with as little Shabbat desecration...
Baltimore, MD - Jan. 24, 2025 - The bitter cold weather and Baltimore's older infrastructure just don't mix. In the last week, the city's Department of Public Works has responded to more than 130 water main breaks due to the cold and counting. Mayor Brandon Scott said the city prepped for this and built up contracting crews to be at the ready. Currently, there are 32 crews working 16-hour days. "The pipes freeze and then they thaw out, and it's really the change in temperatures that causes the pipes to expand and contract, and when that happens they're more susceptible to breaking," DPW engineer Cherod Hicks said. For the first time in seven years, DPW's command center is up and running. "2018 was a record-setting year for water main breaks, but this y...

A pair of lawmakers are proposing an increase to Maryland's minimum wage, phasing in a raise from $15 an hour to $20 an hour over two years. "The minimum wage in Maryland is not enough to meet the cost of living. All working people deserve to be able to earn enough where they work to be able to feed their families and afford a place to live," said Delegate Adrian Boafo, a Democrat from Montgomery County. Delegate Adrian Boafo claimed that if Governor Wes Moore's bill to accelerate the minimum wage to $15 an hour during his first year in office tied the wage to inflation like the governor proposed, the minimum wage would be much higher than it currently is. "If we would have done that, we would have been at about $23, $24 an hour what we're saying is let...

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to the defense of billionaire and US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk on Thursday after the latter was accused of making a Nazi salute. "Elon Musk is being falsely smeared," Netanyahu declared in a post on X. He added: "Elon is a great friend of Israel. He visited Israel after the October 7 massacre in which Hamas terrorists committed the worst atrocity against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. He has since repeatedly and forcefully supported Israel’s right to defend itself against genocidal terrorists and regimes who seek to annihilate the one and only Jewish state. "I thank him for this." The X, Tesla, and Space-X CEO came under fire earlier in the week when during an address after President Donald Trump's ina...
