“Help my daughter live”  I am Esti, Lali’s mother. Our Lali is a child we longed for and waited for five years. She is all the light and joy of our home, and all I want is for her to stay here with us. Not long ago, she started feeling unwell. We took her to doctors, and what they discovered simply broke our hearts—she has cancer. Since then, nothing has been the same. We are trying to stay strong for her, but inside, we are falling apart. Her treatments cost a lot, far beyond what we can manage alone. I am asking you, anyone who can contribute, to help us save Lali. Every donation, every bit of support—it’s for her and for us. Please daven for Leah bas Esther for a full recovery. May you never know such pain, Esti  Donate now https://...

A statement from the hospital says the child was brought to the trauma unit in critical condition, with doctors forced to declare his death after intensive efforts to save him. Baltimore, MD - Dec. 11, 2024  - Marilyn Mosby is once again asking for permission to travel for work, and this time the defense filed a new motion asking Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby to allow Mosby to travel to Texas on a business trip. The former top prosecutor in Baltimore City now serves as Director of Global Strategic Planning at an undisclosed California-based company. According to her defense, Mosby has been directed by the company’s CEO to travel to Texas between Dec. 15 and Dec. 18 to attend meetings and tour a facility that her company is considering buying. Mosby’s attorney, James Wyda, argues that “she has been fully compliant with the home detention condition as well as other conditions of supervised release for her entire period of supervised release - mo...
Dear Friends, Over three years ago, we started the Kosher Money podcast to spark a conversation that so many of us were already having around our Shabbos tables: “In a world where the numbers don’t seem to really add up, how can we, as a community, tackle the daily financial challenges of living financially responsible lives as Orthodox Jews?” Since then, Kosher Money has grown into something far bigger than we could have imagined. The podcast has resonated deeply, tapping into the core of how money shapes our daily lives. It has become a global phenomenon, with over 50 million content views, reaching not only the Orthodox Jewish community but people from countries and cultures around the world seeking practical and moral financial guidance. This growth comes with r...

This is the final opportunity to submit impact statements, which will be placed in the offenders' records. Baltimore, MD – Dec. 11, 2024 – 4:26PM - A tree has fallen and is lying on a wire at the intersection of Greenspring and Northern Parkway.
Annapolis, MD - Dec. 11, 2024  - A renewed effort to expand alcohol sales beyond liquor stores has the backing of a powerful new ally — Gov. Wes Moore (D) told Maryland Matters that he “wants something on my desk at the end of the session.” The General Assembly has tried before to allow alcohol sales in grocery stores — and perhaps other retailers. Moore said that while he will not make the bill an official part of his 2025 legislative package, his office will push for passage of a bill in the coming session. “I think it’s time to address this issue because it’s something that I have heard literally in every single corner of the state from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore. From Oakland, Ocean City, Montgomery County and everywhere in be...
FBI Director Christopher Wray told the bureau workforce Wednesday that he plans to resign at the end of President Joe Biden’s term in January, an announcement that came a week and a half after President-elect Donald Trump said he would nominate loyalist Kash Patel for the job. Wray said at a town hall meeting that he would be stepping down “after weeks of careful thought,” three years short of the completion of a 10-year term marked by high-profile and politically charged investigations, including that led to two separate indictments of Trump last year. Wray’s intended resignation is not unexpected considering that Trump had settled on Patel to be director and had repeatedly aired his ire at Wray, including in a television interview broadcast Sunday...
I can just hear his voice in my ears: 'Unbelievable, how thousands of yidden are davening for another yid, just because he's a fellow yid!' Even though this picture was just taken this month, somehow it feels like an eternity ago. Time moves weirdly these days. I just really wanted to take a moment to publicly express my hakaras hatov for the thousands of people who have reached out, who have been saying tehillim, and who have been keeping my father-in-law in mind in your tefillos. The whole Krohn family (including my in-laws) have been seeing the tehillim, the parnas hayoms, the mitzvos being done, the letters, the messages, the tefillos... and it is all giving them tremendous chizuk. And is undoubtedly making a tremendous difference. So from the bottom of our hear...
Syria's rebels are ignoring Israel's moves in the area due to fear of the Jewish state and a wish to prioritize gaining power at home, Sky News Arabia reported. Mahmoud al-Afandi, a political researcher, told Sky News Arabia that, "Syria has fulfilled the conditions for a failed country, and what happens [now] is a random transfer of power." "Hayʼat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is afraid of Israel and the US," he told the site. "Even a statement regarding the Israeli strikes is hard for the terror group, which wants international recognition. If it clashes with Israel today, it certainly will not receive that." He continued, "The coalition of the Syrian opposition has condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine, but it is not publishing a similar statement re...
A proposed merger between grocery giants Kroger and Albertsons was halted Tuesday by two judges overseeing separate cases, leaving the $24.6 billion deal in legal limbo. U.S. District Court Judge Adrienne Nelson issued a preliminary injunction blocking the merger Tuesday after holding a three-week hearing in Portland, Oregon. Later Tuesday, Judge Marshall Ferguson in Seattle issued a permanent injunction barring the merger in Washington after concluding it would lessen competition in the state and violate Washington's consumer-protection laws. The legal setback comes nearly a year after the FTC, Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown and a bipartisan coalition of states filed a lawsuit challenging the proposed merger, saying it would eliminate competi...
Israel’s concern that the instability in Syria could spill over into its territory has led it to major action in the neighboring country, essentially opening an additional front in the multi-front war it has been engaged in for fourteen months. Over the weekend, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) took control of the demilitarized buffer zone in Syria that was established as part of a 1974 cease-fire reached between the two hostile countries. In that buffer zone is Mt. Hermon's highest peak, the highest point on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea. “The territory guarantees strategic control over the whole southern Syrian arena, which generates an immediate threat to Israel,” Kobi Michael, a researcher at INSS and the Misgav Institute for National S...
The Baltimore City Circuit Court clerk made a very public call Tuesday for city agencies to proactively test the water at the Mitchell and Cummings courthouses to ensure it’s safe to drink. Concerns are mounting over possible water contaminated with legionella at Baltimore buildings owned and operated by public entities. This comes after water test results revealed last month that one of the six state-owned buildings at State Center is contaminated with legionella bacteria. “At the end of the day, people really shouldn’t be working in these buildings. It’s a problem,” said Patrick Moran, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Maryland. “They’ve got to get a handle on infrastructure in the city and the ...
Columbia University’s alliance of anti-Israel activist groups is reinstated to Instagram after being suspended from the platform earlier this week. Columbia University Apartheid Divest, a coalition of dozens of student groups, was suspended after posting plans for a protest targeting university trustees that included an image of a figure holding a Molotov cocktail. That protest targeted Barnard College, the women’s college associated with Columbia. Barnard condemned “inflammatory posts with violent imagery” and stepped up security measures on campus in response. Meta, Instagram’s parent company, did not respond to a request for comment on the suspension at the time. Instagram is the student group’s main platform for organizing and advertisi...
