Baltimore, MD - March 31, 2025 - A company jointly owned by the Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health Systems is set to cut over 1,000 jobs this summer, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retaining Notification.
Broadway Services LLC, a contract-services company based in Baltimore, has over 1,000 employees, serving the Maryland and Washington area, including Hopkins’ Baltimore campuses. Services include security, parking services, janitorial, transportation and facility management.
In 2024, Hopkins reviewed the joint venture and determined Broadway Services would be closing after over 40 years, according a Hopkins spokesperson in a statement sent to The Baltimore Sun. The decision was announced to all employees in October, providing them with eight months of not...

Maryland State School Superintendent Carey Wright revealed Monday morning that late Friday, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) was told by the U.S. Department of Education that they would not be sending Maryland $360 million that federal officials had committed to Maryland.
At a Monday morning press conference, Wright said, “Shock does not begin to describe our reaction when we received notification late Friday evening.”

Israel has submitted a counter-proposal to the Hamas terrorist, according to which Hamas will release 11 live hostages on the first day of the agreement, including American citizen Edan Alexander, and there will be a total of 40 days of ceasefire.

Troops of the 252nd Division are continuing targeted operations to expand the security perimeter in northern and central Gaza.
As part of the activity, Yahalom Unit troops under the command of the 252nd Division dismantled a one-kilometer-long underground tunnel route belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization.
In an additional activity, the troops located a workshop used for producing rockets and launchers.
So far, the division’s troops have eliminated over 50 terrorists.

I have already written in this space about the need for peak sensitivity during this period, about the need for a safe, non-toxic space. Washington, D.C. – March 31, 2025 – Former President Donald Trump has expressed frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the ongoing Ukraine war. Trump threatened to impose stiff tariffs on Russian oil imports unless Putin agrees to negotiate a peaceful resolution. According to the report, Trump criticized Putin’s actions as “reckless and damaging to global stability.”
Trump emphasized that his administration would have handled the situation differently and accused President Joe Biden of allowing Russia to operate without sufficient deterrence. The proposed tariffs, Trump stated, would be aimed at pressuring Russia economically to force a diplomatic settlement.
